Zinc Electroplating
Zinc electroplating provides steel products with a thin layer (0.0001” to 0.0005”) of zinc to protect against corrosion caused by moisture, oxygen and atmospheric gases. Available in rack and barrel formats, this finish is applied in a process that uses electricity.
Ideal for: consumer, industrial and commercial products including nuts, bolts, washers, metal stampings, automotive components and fabricated parts for industrial applications
Benefits: low cost
Not recommended for: critical steel parts subjected to temperatures in excess of 500˚F
